Mainz in January 2012 – MittelPunkt - the international LARP conference hostet by the German Larp-Association (DLRV e.V.) - is celebrating its seventh anniversary. This time we have chosen Mainz, the state capital of Rheinland-Pfalz as the venue.
MittelPunkt is a gathering to advance communication and exchange between Live-Action-Role-Players of all genres and settings. With more than 100 participants and numerous guests from all over Europe it is an international event for the whole european LARP-community with Mini-Larps, workshops, discussions and lectures as the main features. We also provide a platform for associations and camapaigns for their annual meetings. MittelPunkt also provides the perfekt frame for the F.R.E.D.-Award, a price for progressive and innovative LARP events in Germany. The F.R.E.D. is rewarded for excellent, forward-looking and often unusual or otherwise remarkable LARP concepts which took place in 2011.
This year we would like to take a look back in time. The first major German LARP event, the "Draccon 1" took place 20 years ago, an opportunity to take a closer look on those "glory days" and 20 years of Live-Action-Role-Play in Germany.
We have chosen the slogan "Once Upon a LARP" to point out that a lot of inspiration, at least for the fantasy genre, originates in myths and fairy-tales and so this will be the central theme of the event. So you better take your Red Riding Hood costume with you for the party ;-)
As always, MittelPunkt depends on your participation and we will be thankfull for every input YOU can give.
We're looking forward to an outstanding MittelPunkt 2012 with all of you!
Your Team for the MittelPunkt on behalf of the German Larp-Association
